HOUSE PARENT

Full Time ​

  • Ensure youth medications are filled in a timely manner

  • Maintain all log books

  • Monthly Fire Drills (day and night-time)

  • Practice evacuation procedures

  • Complete weekly chore list

  • Supervise youth while during chores to ensure proper cleanliness

  • Set example for youths to follow

  • Ensure youth follow house schedule

  • Complete incident reports for all injuries, runaways, etc.

  • Check youth’s bedrooms at least hourly (overnight staff)

  • Ensure safety of children

  • Attend and transport children to school events

  • Make necessary doctor’s appointments for youth and transport

  • Encourage children to participate in after school activities

  • Ensure trash is taken out by youth on appropriate days

  • Ensure youth completing outside chore is watering yard/garden and keeping clean

  • Ensure all youth complete homework and help if needed

  • Transport youth to and from after school activities

  • Office filing

  • Youth file checks for DCF compliance

  • Admissions and departures

  • Service planning and discharge planning

  • Check logbooks weekly to ensure updated

  • Independent living training weekly

  • Plan monthly activities

  • Quarterly progress reports, as assigned

  • Assist in training new employees

  • Serve as On-Call lead biweekly and as needed

  • Other reasonable duties asked
